Southern Virginia family Farm Serving

Get To Know Us
We handcraft farmstead cheese using time-honored techniques from our own Normande cow’s milk.
Hey there! We’re Melanie and Scott, owners of Peaceful Heart Farm in beautiful Claudville. That’s in Patrick County Virginia, nestled between Winston-Salem, NC and Roanoke, VA.
In an age where most people only have access to bland food from industrial agriculture, we’re proud to call ourselves your local farmers. We milk the cows ourselves, make cheese by hand, produce nutrient-dense food and heal the earth. And we create food that has a real sense of terroir…that local taste that can only be created from our rich southern Virginia soils and forages.
We’re proud to serve Southwestern Virginia (Galax, Hillsville, Independence, Roanoke and Wytheville, VA and surrounding towns). We also serve the North Carolina Piedmont Triad (Winston-Salem, Greensboro and High Point, NC) with fresh raw milk dairy products.
Here’s how you can join our family and enjoy creamy Peaceful Heart raw milk: LEARN MORE

Virginia Raw Milk HERD SHARES
A herd share enables you to enjoy the freshest, most natural milk available. Unless you have a cow in your backyard, you need a herd share to enjoy raw milk in Virginia.**
It works like this: We do all the work – milking, grazing, doctoring, delivering etc. We do all this for a boarding fee of just $44.00 a month, per share. It’s that simple. Your boarding fee will be dictated by the amount of milk, cheese, butter, yogurt and/or cream you wish to receive each week.

Prepare for Disaster
Prepare for disaster is a motto I grew up with living in rural Michigan. Back in the day, when the power went off due to a winter storm, it could be off for several weeks. Today we have much better electrical systems and our current provider has kept us in good shape....
Pickled Quail Eggs

Our Raw Milk Cheese Creamery Progress
Our raw milk cheese creamery was the center of the day today. The construction is moving along nicely. Our state inspectors made an appearance and helped us out with details on safety measures. We work with them every step of the way to make sure all safety concerns...
