We have vareity of animals on our farm. We started with Katahdin sheep as our primary sources of income for the farm. They are “hair” sheep, which means they shed their wool in the spring.
We have now changed to producing handmade farmstead cheese. We use the milk from our Normande herd. These animals are bred in France and produce fine beef and the milk that we use to make the cheese.
We have a couple of miniature donkeys that are guard animals for the sheep and lambs.
In July 2013 we added cashmere goats. Though we will harvest the cashmere, their primary purposed is pasture maintenance. They eat brush and woody kinds of plants that the others don’t.
